NorthStar is Open for Play!

NorthStar is Open for Play – Beginning Wednesday, April 1

NorthStar is Open for Play

Beginning Wednesday, April 1

Here we go again! Monday’s directive from the State of Ohio to local County Health Departments allows golf courses to remain open under the following conditions:

  1. Clubhouse and Golf Shop must remain closed.
  2. Both private and public play is allowed. We have chosen to allow public play only if they prepay online or over the phone. The physical exchange of money or credit cards is not allowed.
  3. Golf carts are not allowed. Only individual pull carts are permitted, or golfers can carry their own bag.
  4. Tee Time intervals will be spaced every 12 minutes. To book your tee time please call the Golf Shop or book online.
  5. All practice facilities including the driving range, putting green and chipping green will be closed.
  6. Take-out service is allowed for food and beverage. We will offer a take-out menu that will be limited to hot dogs, brats, roll-ups and sandwich specials as well as a variety of snacks and candy. The menu will be posted on the outside of the front Clubhouse doors or you can call the Golf Shop for more information and/or place an order.
  7. Please adhere to the social distancing guidelines while on NorthStar property. Everyone is expected to adhere to the “six feet” recommendation given by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
  8.  Golf Course Policies:
  9. Flagsticks: We are asking all golfers to leave the flagsticks in at all times in order to minimize the possibility of transmitting any disease.
  10. Bunker Rakes/Ball Washers/Water Coolers: All have been removed from the golf course and will return when it is safe to do so for the same reason as described above about flagsticks.
  11.  Cups: Putting cups have been raised to ensure the golf ball is easily retrievable and doesn’t fall to the bottom of the cup.
  12. Course Etiquette: All players please continue to observe proper course etiquette and practices while you play i.e., replace divots and fix ball marks on the greens.

We apologize for the inconvenience that has been caused by our state and local governments’ “on again-off again” golf course policy during this coronavirus pandemic. I believe they have our best interest at heart, but are struggling with many new issues in these difficult times.

Stay safe,

Bill Gallant, General Manager

We are temporarily closed.

Given the seriousness of the coronavirus and it’s spread, we have decided to close the golf course and Clubhouse as of 1:00 pm Friday, March 27, 2020 in compliance with Governor’s “Stay at Home” order. We will remain closed until the Governor’s order regarding non-essential businesses is lifted.
We cannot, in good conscience, potentially compromise the health of our staff, Members and guests by providing a typical golf course and Clubhouse environment.
We look forward to seeing you again when we re-open!

WE ARE OPEN!

WE ARE OPEN!

We received yesterday at 3:00 pm new information from the Governor’s office about a change in their decision.  We are back to where we were on Sunday! The golf course will remain open and we will be serving take-out orders as before.
During this time, we are making it mandatory to prepay for your tee time online at the time of booking, as well as over the phone. This will continue to assist in the social distancing and interaction between employees and guests. This practice is being put into place to ensure the safety of everyone.
We will be taking these precautions for both the Clubhouse and course:

Course Precautions

Golf Carts:
We encourage all Members to walk, if possible. As has been our policy, public players must take a cart. If two golfers are from the same home, they will be permitted to share one cart. Ideally each golfer will have his/her own cart. If the number of available carts limits our ability to fully implement this policy, we will use our best common sense to ensure the safety of all players. Golf carts are being disinfected after each round.

Flagsticks:
We are asking all golfers to leave the flagsticks in at all times in order to minimize the possibility of transmitting any disease.

Bunker Rakes/Ball Washers/Water Coolers:
All have been removed from the golf course and will return when it is safe to do so for the same reason as described above about flagsticks.

Staff:
All staff will be wearing gloves when interacting with customers to ensure the safety for all parties.

Clubhouse:
The maximum number of occupants in the clubhouse at one time is 10 people, including staff. Please adhere to the “X’s” on the floor to comply with Section 15 of the “Stay at Home” act!
What confusion!!  We apologize for that, but our previous updates were published based on the information we were given from the state at that time.  Those instructions changed at 3:00 pm yesterday.  I am quite sure that the Governor and his team are doing the best they can…..However, stay tuned!

Thank you for your patience.  We look forward to seeing you out on the course soon!

Temporarily Closed

In compliance with the Governor’s “Stay at Home” order issued yesterday, our golf course and Clubhouse will be closed to Members, guests and the public at 7:00 pm on Monday, March 23 and will not reopen until the order is lifted. Although “carry out” service is exempt from the order, we have decided to end this service, due to lack of demand, tonight as well.

These are trying days for all of us, but we hope and pray that better days lie ahead in the not too distant future.

We are closely following the news & will keep you updated via email & our Facebook page as the situation evolves.

We send our best wishes to all individuals and communities that have been impacted by the virus. Click HERE for the CDC’s recommended steps to prevent illness.

Stay safe- we will see you back on the green as soon as we can!

Wedding venue issues? We can help!

We heard about the closing of Noah’s Event Venue & wanted to help. If you were previously booked & are now looking for an alternate venue, let us turn this unfortunate event into a memorable experience!

We still have spring, summer and fall dates available & we will work with you to lessen the burden on your event cost. We will start by waiving our ceremony fee and F&B minimum and work with you on all of the remaining costs.
